Two-vehicle crash under investigation in Pa.



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. ? Pennsylvania State Police investigated a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 30 at Mont Alto Road Thursday at 2:33 p.m.

A 1997 Mercury driven by Charlotte L. Kuhs, 67, of Fayetteville, Pa., was traveling east on U.S. 30 in the left turn lane when a 2008 Hyundai driven by Kevin A. Yarnall, 21, of Greencastle, Pa., crossed into Kuhs' lane.

Police had no information on injuries in the accident. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Deputy Joel Footen is the investigating officer on the incident.




Man who robbed Hagerstown cab sought by police



Hagerstown Police were searching for a man they say robbed a Miller Cab driver at gunpoint just before noon Wednesday.

The armed robbery took place in the 800 block of Hamilton Boulevard. Police said in a press release that it was not known how much money was taken.

The robber was described as a black man between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, police said.




Chambersburg man faces DUI, other charges



SCOTLAND, Pa. - A Chambersburg, Pa., man was charged Jan. 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol following a vehicle crash.

Pennsylvania State Police said Mark W. Morrow, 36, also was charged with hit-and-run and several traffic violations.

The single-vehicle crash was on Siloam Road at Airport Road in Greene Township, Pa. Police said Morrow lost control of his 1992 Oldsmobile on a slushy roadway. The car rolled down an embankment and landed on its roof, police said.




Truck driver struggles with Pa. troopers, then flees



CARLISLE, Pa. - A man driving a truck tractor Thursday morning had a large quantity of marijuana and fled in a stolen vehicle after being stopped by police, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police were still looking for the man late Thursday. The man was described as black, 6 feet 6 inches tall and thin.

A Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program team, including a trooper and a civilian enforcement officer, stopped a truck tractor for vehicle violations, police said. The truck was stopped on northbound U.S. 81 near the exit for Hanover Street in Middleton Township, Pa.

Police said the driver was acting suspiciously and there were problems with the vehicle's paperwork. A drug sniffing dog was sent to the scene.

When police told the man that he was being detained, he struggled with troopers and was able to get away, police said. After a short foot chase, the man stole a vehicle from a home near Rillo's Restaurant at 60 Pine St., in Carlisle.

After searching the truck tractor, police said they found a large quantity of suspected marijuana.
