Eastbound I-70 at Hancock open again following tractor-trailer crash

HANCOCK ? For the second day in a row, eastbound traffic on Interstate 70 has been disrupted, this time by an accident shortly before 4 a.m. today involving an overturned tractor-trailer.

Maryland State Police said at 8 this morning that the fast lane of the interstate was blocked ? eastbound traffic was getting by only in the slow lane.

By 10 a.m., all lanes were open, police said.

Hancock fire and ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene along with units from Little Orleans, Md., in nearby Allegany County.

There was no information this morning on any injuries in today's incident.

On Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m., a construction crane overturned, blocking all lanes of eastbound I-70 west of Clear Spring for nine hours.
