Bester students seek donations for auction

Local businesses are asked to help with the third annual fourth-grade student auction, to be held at Bester Elementary School in May.

The school is asking businesses to donate to the auction by providing gifts, financial donations or gift certificates.

Throughout the school year, the students work for "class cash," which they earn through good behavior, positive thinking, thoughtful responses, and showing respect and responsibility.

With the "class cash," the students can buy items at the classroom stores or save their money for the annual auction, held at the end of the school year.

With financial donations, fourth-grade teachers will be able to buy toys, games, books and sports equipment for students to bid on in May.

Those wishing to make donations may contact Katie Baker at 301-992-5886 or via e-mail at
