·Due to a reporter's error, the name of an Allegheny Power spokeswoman was misspelled in a story on A3 of Sunday's Herald-Mail. The spokeswoman's name is Janice Lantz.

· Due to an Associated Press error, a brief on page B3 of Monday's Herald-Mail inaccurately described the grade-point average Jefferson County students must have to exempt them from taking final exams.

Students can forgo the tests if they have at least an 85 percent grade-point average.

Also, students must have no more than five absences.

Jefferson High School Principal Howard Guth says the incentive helps motivate students to show up to school and keep up their grades.

The Herald-Mail apologizes for the mistakes.
