Several sentenced in District Court this week

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The following events occurred this week in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg, according to news releases from the office of U.S. Attorney Sharon L. Potter:

· Jeremy Broadwater, 28, of Keyser, W.Va., was sentenced Tuesday to 37 months in prison. He pleaded guilty Aug. 17 to distributing cocaine hydrochloride.

· Jeffrey Lee Butler, 36, of Petersburg, W.Va., was sentenced Tuesday to 17 1/2 years in prison. He pleaded guilty March 28 to possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

· Louis Thomas Fletcher, 58, of Martinsburg, pleaded guilty Wednesday to distributing crack cocaine. Fletcher, who was free on bond, could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $1 million.

· Jason Montgomery, 22, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was sentenced Tuesday to 37 months in prison. He pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to distributing crack cocaine.

· Heidi Janelle Silver Myers, a lawyer from Martinsburg, W.Va., was convicted Monday on a criminal contempt charge. On Dec. 5, 2006, Myers disobeyed a lawful subpoena issued by the Federal Grand Jury by failing to appear and produce requested documents and items, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

· Stephanie A. Payton, 39, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was sentenced Tuesday to 27 months in prison. She pleaded guilty July 18 to distributing crack cocaine.

· Jason Lee Laureigh, 26, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was sentenced Tuesday to 60 months in prison following an Oct. 9 guilty plea to possessing crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.

· Charles Todd Caton, 21, of Hedgesville, W.Va., was sentenced Tuesday to 24 months in prison. He pleaded guilty Oct. 21 to theft of firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer in Hedgesville.

· Jeffrey Keith Harper, 34, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years, seven months in prison. He pleaded guilty Sept. 21 to distributing crack cocaine.
