Charges were brought Wednesday against two Hagerstown residents in connection with a Dec. 13 burglary and theft of firearms in Keedysville, according to Investigator Greg Alton of the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Michael Wayne Rippeon Jr., 24, was jailed without bond on one count each of first- and fourth-degree burglary, felony theft and destruction of property under $500.

Rippeon's last known address is 41 W. Bethel St., Alton said.

Jodie Ann Grimes, 26, of the same address, was served with a criminal summons Wednesday on one count of felony theft, one count of theft less than $100 and two counts of theft under $500, Alton said.

Grimes wasn't taken into custody.

The burglary occurred at 20013 Nicodemus Mill Road where a door was forced and entry was made into the residence. In addition to the firearms, also taken were DVDs, coins in a jug and a PlayStation 2 system and games.

In the course of his investigation into this crime, Alton said information surfaced about a wedding ring from another burglary that had turned up at a pawn shop.

Alton is trying to find the owner of the 10-carat gold ring with an etched leaf pattern. He is asking anyone with information about the ring to call 240-313-2185.
