Man charged after Franklin County girl taken from home

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - A Mercersburg, Pa., man allegedly promised a 14-year-old Franklin County girl she would be modeling in a photo shoot in New York before taking her to Maine.

Pennsylvania State Police said that Albert W. Guastafeste, 46, was charged Wednesday with concealing the whereabouts of a child. He was arrested in Paris, Maine, and police said he will be extradited back to Pennsylvania.

The 14-year-old girl allegedly was taken to Maine without her parents' permission, police said.

Eggs thrown at driveway, shed in Greencastle

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Eggs were thrown Wednesday or Thursday at a Greencastle-area man's driveway and shed.

The home is at the intersection of Grant Shook and Worleytown roads, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Women charged with theft at Chambersburg Mall stores

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Two Chambersburg women were charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing clothing from three Chambersburg Mall stores on Friday.


Pennsylvania State Police said Daurilyn Newcomer, 19, and Heather Junker, 24, both of Chambersburg, allegedly stole clothing from Sears, JCPenney and DEB.

Ladders reported stolen from Pa. home

ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Two ladders were stolen from a St. Thomas Township man's home between Jan. 3 and Jan. 11, Pennsylvania State Police said.

One of the aluminum extension ladders was 40 feet tall and the other was 20 feet tall.

Washington County woman is charged in hit and run

FREDERICK, Md. - A Washington County woman who police say was intoxicated, allegedly was involved in a hit-and-run crash Friday in Frederick.

Maryland State Police said Wendy Fitzgerald, 41, of Rohrersville, was charged with hit and run, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Just before 3 p.m., Fitzgerald was driving east on U.S. 340, east of Md. 17, when the vehicle she was driving allegedly sideswiped another vehicle and left the scene, police said. The driver of the vehicle that was struck followed Fitzgerald's car and called the police.

Fitzgerald struck a guardrail in the area but continued to drive, police said, before exiting onto Md. 180 and stopping at Olive School Road.

Martinsburg man charged with DUI

FREDERICK, Md. - A Martinsburg, W.Va., man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a car crash, police said.

Maryland State Police said Jesse Lee Steelman Jr., 28, was involved in a crash Friday night on Md. 355 in Frederick.

ATVs, racing engines stolen from Pa. shop

SPRING RUN, Pa. - Someone stole two ATVs, two racing engines, a chainsaw and other tools from McGee Motor Sports in Spring Run in northern Franklin County Friday, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

The items were taken from the business at 19477 Spring Run Road between 12:45 a.m. and 5:50 p.m., police said.
