A man charged with first-degree murder in the May 22 shooting death of a Greencastle, Pa., man at a Hagerstown bar was in Washington County Circuit Court Thursday morning.

Assistant Public Defender Carl Creeden withdrew a motion to suppress on behalf of Stephen Lamar Urquhart, 27.

Urquhart was found in New York in August and was extradited to Maryland on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Christopher Jason Ayala.

Ayala, 23, was found on the floor of Zipper's bar on North Jonathan Street suffering from a gunshot wound around 11 p.m. on May 22. He was taken to Washington County Hospital, where he later died.

Urquhart and Ayala were acquaintances before the shooting, police have said.

A four-day trial is set for the end of February.
