January 11, 2008

IJAMSVILLE, Md. ? Maryland State Police are trying to determine the identity of a body that was found last month in a wooded area near Md. 355 at Bennett Creek in Ijamsville, a press release said Friday.

The remains are described to be those of a black male in his mid-50s, the release said. He was between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall and of medium build. The man was wearing an Abercrombie & Fitch blue denim jacket, sweatpants and Nike sandals, the release said.

It is believed the man was homeless and had been dead for about six months before hunters found him Dec. 1, the release said. Police do not think foul play was involved.

Anyone with information may call the Maryland State Police at 301-600-4176.
