Family Dollar store in Hagerstown robbed at gunpoint

The Family Dollar store at 1051 Maryland Ave. was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, Hagerstown Police said in a news release.

A man showed the clerk a handgun and demanded money at about 7:45 p.m., police said. The clerk complied and the man left the store with the money, police said.

A search of the area by Hagerstown Police and Washington County Sheriff's Department deputies was unsuccessful, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man in his late teens to early 20s, wearing all black.
