MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A grand opening for the Wal-Mart Supercenter in northern Berkeley County has been scheduled for March 5, company spokeswoman Kelly Hobbs said Tuesday.
"We're eager and excited to be opening finally," Hobbs said.
The company opened a hiring center Dec. 18 and has received more than 300 applications for 340 full- and part-time positions at the 197,000-square-foot store in Spring Mills off W.Va. 901 near Interstate 81 and Williamsport Pike.
Businesses committed to opening in the Wal-Mart store include Regal Nails, Smart Style hair salon, Subway and Wal-Mart Financial Services, Hobbs said.
The store will be slightly smaller than the 204,000-square-foot super center in Martinsburg, she said.
The new Wal-Mart off Exit 20 of the interstate is the anchor to the Spring Mills Towne Center, which includes a McDonald's restaurant, a Centra Bank branch office and a 18,000-square-foot retail shopping strip.
