Entrance agreement OK'd

BOONSBORO - Boonsboro Town Council voted unanimously Monday to approve an entrance agreement for its library.

The agreement with Washington County Commissioners requires that the county maintain the entrance to the facility for 10 years, according to the document. The county also is required to maintain, repair and replace the entrance road and related facilities.

Boonsboro employees are responsible for ice and snow removal from the entrance road to the new library under the agreement.

Police agreement OK'd

BOONSBORO - A new employment agreement for Boonsboro police officers will require that they reimburse the town for some costs associated with their hiring if they leave the town within two years.

Boonsboro Town Council unanimously approved the agreement Monday.

Police Chief Jeff Hewett said police uniforms for one new hire can cost $1,500, and academy training costs about $2,900, plus the officer's salary while he or she is attending the academy.
