Citizens for the Protection of Washington Council will hold a public forum that will include a debate on the merits of charter home rule vs. Washington County's present County Commissioner form of government.
The forum will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Halfway Fire Hall in Halfway.
Jeanne Singer and Tom Berry will make presentations, speaking for and against the proposed form of Washington County government. They then will debate the issue, with Singer speaking for charter home rule and Berry speaking in opposition.
Both served on the Charter Board of Washington County, and Singer was chairwoman.
The audience may ask questions of both speakers throughout the debate.
Voters will have a chance to vote on the Charter Home Rule referendum in the Feb. 12 primary election.
