Criminal charges against two teenagers who police said helped rob employees of a fast-food restaurant will proceed, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing was held Thursday in Washington County District Court for Jason M. West, 17, who is listed with addresses in Philadelphia and Hagerstown.

Court records say probable cause was found and the case was sent to circuit court.

A co-defendant, Christopher Allen Walton, 17, of 736 W. Washington St. in Hagerstown, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and his case also will be forwarded to circuit court, a court clerk said.

Both were charged as adults.

West and Walton were among five people charged with robbing a male and a female who worked at Taco Bell off Maugans Avenue in November.

At the time, police said four people who claimed they had a gun demanded the restaurant's "money bag" from the employees as they waited in the parking lot for a ride.

Someone in the group used a rock to assault the male employee, police said. His wallet and the female employee's purse were taken.

Police said they caught the getaway vehicle on Interstate 81 about 10 minutes after state troopers responded to the call.
