UPPERCO, Md. - James D. "Jim" Staymates, 57, of Upperco, Md., passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Jim grew up in Hagerstown, Md., the son of Maria and Arthur Staymates.

He is survived by his parents and his wife, Sandura "Sandy" Staymates; and son, James Bret of Upperco; and daughter, Maria Danielle of San Francisco, Calif.

Also, his twin brother, Arthur "Archie" Staymates of Baltimore; and sisters, Linda Lee Carpenter and her husband, Ken, of Waynesboro, Pa., and Michele Maria Staymates of Montgomery Village, Md., survive.

Nephews and nieces are Joel Martin, Brian Staymates, Lindsey Staymates, Emma Czarnopys and Aaron Czarnopys.

Jim graduated from North Hagerstown High School with the class of 1968 and from Towson University in 1972.

He, along with his father, owned Staymates Financial Concepts.

Friends may call on Sunday, Jan. 6, at Eline Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 65 Heart Lane, Glyndon, Md., at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7. Interment will take place at Hampstead Cemetery.
