Teufel re-elected Berkeley County Commission president

January 04, 2008

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Steven C. Teufel on Thursday was again elected president of the Berkeley County Commission.

Teufel, 48, was nominated to continue as president by Commissioner Ronald K. Collins. The nomination was seconded by Commissioner William L. "Bill" Stubblefield.

"Both Ron and I think Steve is doing a very good job," Stubblefield said after the commission adjourned their first regular session for 2008.

In October 2007, Teufel announced he would seek another six-year term on the County Commission. All three commissioners are Republicans. Democrat Anthony J. "Tony" Petrucci and Mountain Party member Klaus Heitman have also announced their candidacy for the commission seat.

The weekly morning sessions will continue to be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
