Community Foundation elects officers



The Community Foundation of Washington County Inc. recently held its annual meeting at which the following officers were elected to serve in 2008:

Chairman: David Beachley; Vice Chairmen: Michael Day and Spence Perry; Treasurer: Art Crumbacker; and Secretary: Richard Phoebus.

In addition, Ross Rhoads will continue to serve on the executive committee as past chairman.

The Community Foundation of Washington County has more than $13.5 million in assets and has distributed more than $3.7 million in grants to area non-profits since 1997. Donors can support any of its 155 funds at any time, or create a charitable fund of their own. Girls Inc. plans annual bonanza



Girls Inc. will hold its ninth annual bonanza at the Hagers-town Elks Club on Saturday, March 15, at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $40 per couple, which includes dinner, beer, sodas, music provided by a DJ, tip jars, cash prizes, balloon pop and cash bar.
