Breen, Brooks help Eagles fly past Indians

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Erin Breen scored 14 points and Greyson Brooks added 12 to help No. 4 Hedgesville beat No. 5 Berkeley Springs 53-44 on Thursday in an Apple Valley League matchup.

Brittany Boarman had eight points and seven boards and Cierra Nicholson added eight points and six boards for the Eagles (7-2, 2-0).

Jess Haynes scored a game-high 17 points for the Indians (7-2, 0-1), while Alex Tamez had 15 points and four assists and Leslie Yost added eight rebounds.

No. 7 Goretti 37, Hancock 25

HANCOCK - Carissa Grove scored 14 points and Sarah Spierenburg added 13 to lead St. Maria Goretti (8-3) past Hancock.

Shawnda Wills had eight points, eight rebounds and three assists, Chelsea Stigile had 10 rebounds and five steals, and Samantha Truax added six rebounds for the Panthers (3-7).

McConnellsburg 54, Forbes Road 48

HUSTONTOWN, Pa. - Courtney McClure had 20 points, 14 rebounds and three assists to lead McConnellsburg to a Sideling Hill League victory over Forbes Road (4-7, 2-4).

Michelle Baker had 16 points, three assists and two blocks, and Casey Pollock added eight points for the Spartans (4-5, 2-3).

Southern Fulton 43, Fannett-Metal 28

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Natasha Bard had 13 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals to lead the Indians past Fannett-Metal (2-10, 0-6) in a Sideling Hill League matchup.

Chelsea Hollenshead scored 12 and added five steals, and Brooke Whiteside had 11 points and five steals for Southern Fulton (6-3, 4-2).

Heritage 39, Shalom 24

Morgan McIntire had 28 points and four steals as she outscored Shalom Christian (5-6, 3-2) by herself and led Heritage Academy to victory in the MDCC.

Bri Dorsey had seven points, 11 rebounds and four steals, while Rebekah Clarke had seven rebounds for the Eagles (5-4, 4-2).
