Woodland group to meet Jan. 10 in Carlisle, Pa.

CARLISLE, Pa. - On Jan. 10, the Cumberland Woodland Owners Association will meet at 7 p.m. in the lower conference room of the Cumberland County Extension Office, which is at 1100 Claremont Road in Carlisle.

Jamie Flickinger, Game Commission's Southcentral Regional Wildlife diversity biologist, will be the featured speaker. There is no cost and you do not have to be a member to attend.

Flickinger will speak on the Private Land Owner Assistance Program and the Barn Owl Conservation Initiative. The program is a new Pa. Game Commission program designed to help landowners better manage their property for wildlife diversity.

The association is an organization of private forestland owners and others interested in forestry issues in south central Pennsylvania. The mission of the association is to provide information, education and an exchange of ideas to its members and others about the methods and benefits of proper forest management.
