Ohio woman charged in motel stabbing

MARTINSBURG, W.Va., - An Ohio woman was charged Friday with malicious assault after she allegedly stabbed a man Thursday in a motel room, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Melody J. Willis, 40, of Adena, Ohio, was arraigned Friday by Magistrate Harry L. Snow, who set a $15,000 bond for her.

According to a complaint filed by West Virginia State Police Trooper J.S. Chumley, the victim said that the woman was arguing with the victim in Room 229 of the Knights Inn, then stabbed him in the right hand.

Willis told police she was afraid the victim was going to injure her.
