Smithsburg Lions conduct Vision Days

The Smithsburg Lions Club conducted its annual Vision Days promotion on Nov. 2 and 3 at the Smithsburg Food Lion.

Members distributed candy to patrons and collected donations for the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

The Wilmer Eye Institute long has been recognized for bringing together ophthalmologists consistently ranked by their peers as among the finest internationally, with a specially trained and highly experienced team of nurses. Many of the researchers are involved in developing new treatments for eye diseases, diagnosis and treatment.

Eye services are comprehensive and include cataract removal, strabismus repair, glaucoma correction, etc. Complete pre-operative and post-operative care, as well as patient education, are provided.

The members of the club also collected food to give to the local Smithsburg Food Bank during their Christmas dinner.

The Smithsburg Lions Club serves the surrounding communities.
