Arabic language class offered at HCC

Hagerstown Community College is offering a course titled "Elementary Arabic I" for students wishing to learn the fundamentals of Modern Standard Arabic. The course also will introduce some Egyptian dialect. Classes start Jan. 14 and will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7:40 p.m.

The course includes instruction in grammar, writing Arabic script and sentence structure. Students also will study Arabic customs and culture.

Class on proposal writing to be offered

Hagerstown Community College is offering a credit course to help students learn and use a process to develop and write proposals for grants and other purposes.

Course topics include analyzing and interpreting requests for proposals; conducting needs assessments and developing proposal goals, objectives and activities; evaluation processes; and budgets.

The class meets Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. for 15 weeks, beginning Jan. 16.
