On Dec. 8, Girl Scouts from Boonsboro Troop 222 had a very special and exciting trip.Troop leader Heidi Welsh organized a dogsledding trip with Husky Power Dogsledding in Accident, Md.

The weather was perfect, as newly fallen snow and a crispness in the air made this event even more special for the girls.

When the girls arrived, they were thrilled to see 19 dogs. The Siberian and Alaskan huskies were awesome and beautiful. The girls loved learning all about the dogs and the sport of dogsledding.

The girls and parents who attended learned about the sleds, harnesses and other equipment. When it came time for the sled rides, the dogs all wanted a piece of the action and it was a thrill to see the dogs harnessed and exciting to take the girls for a run.
