Oh, thank heaven ... No injuries in Hagerstown Hummer crash

December 18, 2007|By HEATHER KEELS

A Hummer H3 crashed through the front window of the 7-Eleven on Salem Avenue Monday, Hagerstown Police said.

The Hummer, driven by the store's co-owner, drifted from the parking lot at about 5:15 p.m., struck a concrete trash can and continued into the front of the store, Lt. Mark Holtzman said.

When officers L. Dean and E. Plummer arrived, they found the Hummer through the glass with the front tire in the window frame and the vehicle sitting atop the trash can, Holtzman said.

No one was injured, police said.

An employee at the store said the crash was an accident and the damage to the store was limited to broken glass.
