Hagerstown Civil Air Patrol cadets assist in wreath layings at Capitol, Arlington

WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Monday, Dec. 10, Civil Air Patrol cadets from Hagerstown Squadron provided an honor guard for the Wreaths Across America organization.

The cadets are 12 to 18 years old and live in the four-state area. They were requested to assist in the wreath-laying kickoff at the Capitol Rotunda.

Wayne Hanson of the Maine Historical Society and U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, headed the ceremony.

The cadets also provided the honor guard for the Civil Air Patrol at the Wreaths Across America wreath laying at Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday, Dec.15.

Cadets taking part were Teresa Grey, Patrick Hammond, Kyle Lahr, Samuel McQuaid, Christopher Pangborn, Esther Rea, Jeffrey Remsburg, Stephen Spinder, Benjamin Stevenson and Thomas Tippett.
