Greencastle baseball/softball

The Greencastle-Antrim Baseball-Softball Association's registration dates for the 2008 season are set for Jan. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m., Jan. 26 from 8 a.m. to noon, and Feb. 2nd from 8 a.m. to noon in the Greencastle-Antrim High School cafeteria.


The association includes the following leagues:

T-ball (boys and girls ages 5-6);

Boys minor league (ages 7-8), Little League (ages 9-12), Junior League (ages 13-15) and Senior League (ages 15-16);

Girls slow-pitch minor league (ages 7-8), Little League (ages 9-13) and Pony (ages 13-18). These teams are not limited to girls from the Greencastle-Antrim community.

Girls fast-pitch, which requires tryouts and includes 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U age groups.

Shepherd's Wallace receives more honors

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Shepherd University senior running back Dervon Wallace was named to two more All-America teams on Thursday - the 2007 Daktronics, Inc. Division II All-America and AP Little All-America football teams.

Wallace, who was named to the AFCA All-America team on Wednesday, was chosen to the second team by Daktronics and the third team for Little All-America.

Wallace rushed for a league-record 2,138 yards in 2007 as the Rams finished with a 10-2 mark. His 464 career points also established a WVIAC scoring record.
