WILLIAMSPORT -The Williamsport Food Bank and the Williamsport Area Ministerium are conducting their annual food and fundraising campaign for the 2007 holiday season.
Low-paying jobs, rising costs of food, utilities, medicine, health insurance among other daily needs have placed additional burdens upon the families of the community, according to Mary Anna Kline, food bank coordinator.
"We are requesting donations of canned or boxed food items, cereal, canned meat, vegetables, soups, pancake mix, spaghetti sauce and other food items," Kline said.
Cash donations are also needed to purchase items that not donated, and for when inventory declines.
Drop-off donations will bee accepted from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 20-23 in Williamsport's Byron Memorial Park at the Community Building during Santa's Williamsport visit.
