Wagaman named employee of the month



Mary Wagaman has been chosen as Washington County Health Department's employee of the month for November. Wagaman has worked at the health department since 1994 and has been employed in the administration division where she has supported agency programs in a variety of capacities. She began working in the inventory section of administration and is responsible for management of the health department's fleet. She also supports all aspects of the fiscal operations of administration and works with the transportation program. Prior to her employment at the health department, Wagaman was employed as a legal secretary.

Her nomination and selection reflect a recognition of her skill in performing a number of unrelated tasks with efficiency and professionalism.




Nurse becomes certified in infusion



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Christie Schubel, an infusion services nurse at Chambersburg Hospital, has earned the designation of Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI). According to Janice Mooney, infusion services coordinator at Chambersburg Hospital, the designation CRNI is a recognized symbol of excellence within the infusion nursing specialty and is the only nationally recognized certification program for infusion nursing.

The CRNI credential validates a registered nurse's knowledge of infusion therapy in all nine of the core content areas: transfusion therapy, pharmacology, antineoplastic therapy, technology and clinical applications, infection control, performance improvement, pediatrics, parenteral nutrition, and fluid and electrolyte balance. According to Mooney, by obtaining certification, Schubel demonstrates that she is committed to ongoing educational competency, lifelong learning and more positive patient outcomes.
