Chambersburg rallies to knock off Carlisle

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Armond Perez had 30 points and 18 rebounds as Chambersburg rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit to beat Carlisle 84-81 in a Mid-Penn Commonwealth game on Tuesday.

Darryl Peoples scored 26 points for the Trojans (1-1, 1-0), including 16 in the second half.

Highland View 72, Frederick Christian 56

Austin Owens had 17 points and four blocks to help Highland View Academy defeat Frederick Christian.

Tyrell Franks had 16 points and four assists, Nathan Zollman had 13 points and four steals, and Mike Nyatta had 14 rebounds for the Tartans (1-3).

Steven Rehenen had 21 points and Chris Trumble had 15 for Frederick Christian.

Heritage Academy 61, CVCS 46

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa - Steve Barthalow scored a game-high 20 points to lead Heritage Academy to a Mason Dixon Christian Conference victory over Cumberland Valley Christian.


Andrew Harrell added 17 points and Andrew Hendershot had 11 for the Eagles (2-0, 2-0).

Scott Levy had 17 points to lead CVCS (2-1, 1-1).

Shalom 48, Calvary 46

CRESAPTOWN, Md. - Caleb Hussack made the game-winning shot in overtime to lift Shalom Christian over Calvary Christian (1-1, 1-1) in the MDCC.

Nathanael Raber made a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to take the game into overtime. Raber finished with 18 points, and Hussack finished with 14 for the Flames (2-2, 1-0).


Carlisle 45, Chambersburg 42

CARLISLE, Pa. - Senada Mehmedovic's 3-pointer at the buzzer gave Carlisle a Mid-Penn Commonwealth victory over Chambersburg.

Mehmedovic had 16 points, including three 3s, for the Thundering Herd (2-1, 1-0).

Steph Addleman had 11 points and nine rebounds for the Trojans (0-1, 0-1).

Highland View 38, Fred. Christian 27

Krystle Cartagena and Jessi Cain each had 10 points to lead Highland View Academy over Frederick Christian.

Angelique Bogirimvano had 13 rebounds and six steals for the Tartans (2-3).

Sharon Buell scored 12 points for Frederick Christian.

Southern Fulton 45, Tussey Mountain 34

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Kelly Elbin had 13 points and Brooke Whiteside had 11 as Southern Fulton beat Tussey Mountain (1-2, 0-1) in a Sideling Hill League game.

Kristen Petersen had nine points and 12 rebounds and Chelsea Hollenshead had five steals for the Indians (2-0, 1-0).

Shalom 43, Calvary 25

CRESAPTOWN, Md. - Alexis Marquiss had 18 points, nine rebounds, six steals and five assists to lead Shalom Christian to an MDCC win over Calvary Christian.

Joanna Dean had eight points and Sarah Plasterer had six points and three steals for the Flames (2-2, 1-0).

Chaise Crossland scored 13 points for Calvary (0-2, 0-2).


St. James 66, Potomac School 17

ST. JAMES - Saint James 189-pounder Luke Salisbury led the Saints' win with a pin in 25 seconds in their Mid-Atlantic League opener. Other Saints winners were Ryan Holding (103), Kevin Pohanka (112), Joey Sutch (119), Patrick Solberg (125), Brad Morris (130), James Rogers (140), Adam White (160), Christian Thomas (171), Matt Whitcraft (215) and Taylor Young (285).
