Church choir concert is Wednesday at noon<


The men of the Saint James Choir with McCall Breuer and Regina Clapp, soloists, and directed by Barbara Wischmeier will present music by Handel, Bach, Jungst and Praetorius from noon to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 129 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. A free lunch will follow in the church's conference room.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Christmas dinner

Big Brothers Big Sisters annual Christmas dinner will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown.

The cost is $9 for ages 11 and older, $6 for ages 4 to 10, and free for ages 3 and younger. Big brothers, big sisters and board members are responsible for paying for their meal and any meals of family members. Little brothers' and sisters' meals will be paid for by the agency.

The dinner is limited to Big-and-Little sibling matches in the community-based and school-based programs. Little brothers and sisters who are unable to attend with a Big sibling may be accompanied by one adult.


The menu includes a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, presentations of the Degrees of Friendship, a Christmas message, entertainment by Peggy Dawson and a visit from Santa Claus for the children.

Reservations are required by Wednesday, Dec. 5. To register, call 301-739-4711 or e-mail and include the names of those attending and each child's age.
