December 03, 2007

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - On Sunday, Nov. 25, The Shook Home and The Quarters at the Shook hosted a tree lighting ceremony at the continuing care retirement facility at 55 S. Second St. in Chambersburg.

It was the first tree lighting ceremony the facility has had for the residents and their family members.

A holiday blessing was offered by the chaplain, the Rev. Ray Kaufman. Entertainment was provided by the Cumberland Valley School of Music's new children's group, First Kid's Chorus.

This was the chorus' first public appearance. The group had eight members present. The children are in first through third grades.

They were applauded by the residents as the children performed several Christmas songs to celebrate the lighting of the Christmas trees at The Shook Home. The group is directed by Diana Reinert. For more information call 717-264-6815.
