The trains of Christmas
O-gauge layout featuring trains operating in a snow scene. Also trains for children to operate, HO- and O-scale model railroads, artifacts and photos. 1 to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. Memorial illumination
Volunteers place more than 23,000 luminarias on the battlefield, each representing a killed, injured or missing soldier from the Battle of Antietam, the bloodiest, single-day battle in American history. Driving tour begins at 6 p.m. today on Md. 34 east of Sharpsburg. In the event of high winds or heavy rain, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8. The park visitor center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Several of the park roads will close at 3 p.m.
