David W. Carbaugh, 65



MAY 22, 1942-NOV. 28, 2007

David Wayne "Duck" Carbaugh, 65, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 22, 1942, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Omar Russell and Helen Louise Knox Carbaugh.

He is survived by two siblings, Robert R. Carbaugh of Hagerstown and Carol J. Rockwell of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Shirley A. Wiles, Richard L. Carbaugh and James T. Carbaugh.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home in Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.




Pamela M. Taylor, 52

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Pamela Marie Taylor, 52, of Harpers Ferry, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Dec. 7, 1954, in Ranson, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Daniel W. Taylor Sr. and Helen V. Peters Taylor.

She was a computer technician.

She was a member of Peace Baptist Church in Dunn Loring, Va.

She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Harris of Prince Frederick, Md. and Helen Taylor of Harpers Ferry; seven brothers, Calvin Taylor of Ontario, Canada, Everett Taylor of Hagerstown, Daniel W. Taylor Jr., Douglas Taylor and Glenn Taylor, all of Harpers Ferry, Phillip Taylor of Franklin Farms, Va. and Terry Taylor of Ranson, W.Va.; 19 nieces and nephews; and 24 grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis K. Owens.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Camp Hill Wesley United Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Anthony D. Holland will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Harpers Ferry.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry.




Robert L. Paugh, 57

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Robert L. Paugh, 57, of Hedgesville, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Dec. 6, 1949, in Harrison County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lonnie W. and Ellen Cannon Paugh.

He was a 1972 graduate of Fairmont State.

He taught art at Valley View Elementary School and Martinsburg High until 1982. Also, he and his wife owned and operated Sunshine Shirts in Hedgesville since 1979.

He was active in Adult Ed Volleyball, Men's League Softball and was a member of Woodbrier Golf Course.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Catlett Paugh; one son, Ian M. Paugh of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; one brother, Lonnie Paugh Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Clara Albertson and Mary Ellen McKinley, both of Bridgeport, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, George A. Paugh.

A memorial celebration of his life will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Country Roads Restaurant in Hedgesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hedgesville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 135, Hedgesville, WV 25427.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.




Ida H. Bieber, 96



FEB. 9, 1911-NOV. 29, 2007

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Ida H. Bieber, 96, of Charles Town, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Shenandoah Health Village Center in Charles Town.

Born Feb. 9, 1911, in Phelps, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Herman Norkoli and Amanda Bjorkqist Norkoli.

She had been employed by the Department of Interior as a private certified public accountant.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Hilma N. Pasamani, Alma Norkoli, Martha N. Kapusta, Ruth N. Tokela, Beatrice Norkoli and Kari Rowan; and four brothers, Herman Norkoli, Oscar Norkoli, William Norkoli and Raymond Norkoli.

Services will be private.

Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.




Forrest A. Miller, 80



NOV. 3, 1927-NOV. 29, 2007

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Forrest A. Miller, 80, of Charles Town, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born Nov. 3, 1927, in Westernport, Md., he was the son of the late Clifford Miller and Elizabeth Fazenbaker Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenna M. Knepp Miller, in 2006. They were married in 1945.

He had been employed in the construction industry as a brick mason.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Westernport American Legion Post 155 and VFW Post 7950 of North Beach, Md.

He is survived by four daughters, Virginia Johnson of Dunkirk, Md., Linda Jessen of Inwood, W.Va., Gloria Baker of Bakerton, W.Va. and Cleta Gray of Owings, Md.; two sisters, Josephine Blizzard and Darlene Brashear, both of Westernport; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Services will be private.
