Capello Salon opens downtown near City Hall

November 30, 2007|By JANET HEIM

The grand opening of Capello Salon in downtown Hagerstown is a dream come true for Dawn Gonzalez.

"I've wanted to open my own salon ever since I was a little girl," Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez attributes her interest in cosmetology to a childhood memory of brushing her grandmother's hair.

The salon, at 49 E. Franklin St., just down the street from Hagerstown's City Hall, has been open for about three weeks. Hagerstown Mayor Robert E. Bruchey II and his staff celebrated with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Capello Salon is a full-service, family-oriented hair salon. Clients may make appointments and walk-ins are also welcome.

"It's just a baby now. It has to grow. It's exciting to see what it will be like a year from now," Gonzalez said.

On Saturday, at 5 p.m., there will be a drawing to win a basket of hair products.

To make an appointment or for more information, call the Capello Salon at 301-393-8990.
