Woman faces murder charges in connection with stabbing

FREDERICK, Md. ? Frederick police on Wednesday arrested a Frederick woman who was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing an elderly man in the face Monday at Creekside Apartments, a press release from the Frederick Police Department said.

Mary Patricia Kerr, 53, also was charged with first- and third-degree burglary, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, the release said.

At about 8 p.m. Monday, police responded to a call for a stabbing in the 100 block of Burgess Hill Way and found the victim in his apartment, the release said. The man had a cut near his eye and told police that Kerr had stabbed him with a kitchen knife during a struggle.

The release said a warrant for Kerr's arrest was issued after she fled the area and could not be found.

Frederick police Sgt. M. J. Burns said a police officer spotted Kerr on Wednesday and arrested her without a struggle.


Sheriff's Office investigating theft of 22 cows

FREDERICK, Md. ? The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of 22 cows that were stolen sometime around Nov. 16 from a farm in the 6300 block of Mountain Church Road in Jefferson, Md., according to a press release.

It is believed the cows could have been stolen over a period of time, possibly late at night or in the early hours of the morning, the release said.

Police seek white coupe in connection with accident

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. ? Pennsylvania State Police were looking for the driver of a white coupe with T-tops who fled the scene of an accident Thursday night on Pa. 915 in Fulton County, a press release said.

The driver was traveling north on Pa. 915, veered off the road and struck a sign and a utility pole before getting stuck, the press release said. The driver, whose gender was not identified, was towed by another motorist in a pickup, fled north on Pa. 915 and then west on Pa. 30.

The press release said the white coupe might have damage to the right front corner and driver's side.

Sheriff's deputies respond to incidents

Washington County Sheriff's deputies responded to the following incidents, according to Lt. Mark Knight:

Wednesday

· At 10 a.m., theft of two tags from a vehicle was reported in the 11000 block of Hopewell Road.

· At 12 p.m., a boat cover was reported slashed in the 17000 block of Virginia Avenue.

Tuesday

· At 8 a.m., tools were reported taken from a construction site on Marsh Pike.

· 10 a.m., a house and vehicle were reported damaged with a BB gun in the 17000 block of Gay Street.

· At 11:30 a.m., a vehicle was reported damaged with a BB gun in the 17000 block of Gay Street.

· At noon, theft of a tool box was reported in the 9000 block of Governor Lane Boulevard.

· 5 p.m., attempted breaking and entering was reported in the 22000 block of Jefferson Boulevard.

· At 7 p.m., theft of a cell phone and wallet was reported at Springfield Middle School.

· At 8 p.m., theft of a purse from a shopping cart was reported at Food Lion on Virginia Avenue.

· At 9 p.m., theft of a trailer was reported in the 10000 block of Governor Lane Boulevard.

Monday:

· At 7:30 a.m., two windows were reported broken out of a vehicle in the 19000 block of Bloomfield Court.

· At 7:30 a.m., theft of a laptop computer from a vehicle was reported in the 19000 block of Bloomfield Court.

· At 7:30 a.m., a purse and wallet were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 19000 block of Bloomfield Court.

· At 7:30 a.m., a window was reported broken out of a vehicle in the 20000 block of King's Crest Boulevard.

· At 8 a.m., a window was reported broken out of a vehicle in the 19000 block of Bloomfield Court.

· At 8 a.m., a vehicle was broken into and a navigation system was reported stolen in the 19000 block of Fairmont Court.

· At 8 a.m., a subwoofer was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 19000 block of Fairmont Court.

· At 8 a.m., a business reported being struck by several bullets in the 9400 block of Sharpsburg Pike.

· At 9:30 a.m., a boat cover was slashed and a fire extinguisher was reported stolen in the 17000 block of Virginia Avenue.

· At 10 a.m., a DVD player and CDs were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 11000 block of TwineBridge Court.

· At 11:50 a.m., a tool box was reported stolen from a truck in the 16000 block of Elliot Parkway.

· At 2 p.m., theft of a tag from a trailer was reported in the 21000 block of Mount Aetna Road.

· At 5 p.m., an iPod and adapter were stolen from a vehicle in the 19000 block of Bloomfield Court.
