Hagerstown extends yard waste pickup by two weeks

The Hagerstown City Council has extended yard waste pickup by two weeks.

The last yard waste collection for Hagerstown residents will be Wednesday, Dec. 19. Residents can set out yard waste Tuesday, Dec. 18 after 4 p.m.

Yard waste should be in reusable containers such as garbage cans or bins, or in paper bags, yard waste bags or leaf bags.

Yard waste collection includes leaves, grass clippings, branches and small sticks. Residents are required to bundle branches and sticks in lengths of 3 feet or less and no larger than 2 inches in diameter.

The yard waste collection program will resume in the spring.
