Four W.Va. residents sentenced on drug charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. ? Four West Virginia residents were sentenced on drug charges Nov. 20 in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg.

According to news releases from the U.S. Attorney's office:

· Dayshawn Owens, 31, of Keyser, W.Va., was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison. He pleaded guilty July 10 to possession with intent to distribute cocaine base on Oct. 16, 2003, in Keyser. Owens, also known as Scrooge, is formerly of Bronx, N.Y. He was in federal custody Sunday.

· Aaron Lionel Smith, 33, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison. He pleaded guilty June 5 to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine on Dec. 28 in Martinsburg. He was free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.

· Salem Israel Banks, 36, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison. He pleaded guilty May 22 to distributing crack cocaine on June 8, 2006, in Martinsburg. He was free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.

· Brian Clay Robinson, 34, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 10 months in prison. He pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to aiding and abetting the distribution of crack cocaine on Nov. 21, 2005. He was returned to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.




Martinsburg man sentenced to 10 years on distribution charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. ? A 27-year-old Martinsburg man was sentenced in United States District Court in Martinsburg on Nov. 19 to 10 years in prison, according to the Office of the U.S. Attorney of the Northern District of West Virginia.

Alan Ellis Cuddahee pleaded guilty April 2 to one count of an indictment charging him with distributing drugs on Dec. 22, 2005, in Martinsburg, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Sharon L. Potter.

His prison term will be followed by five years of supervised release.

Cuddahee was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.




Hedgesville man sentenced on drug charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. ? A Hedgesville, W.Va., man was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg on Nov. 19 to about four years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia.

William O'Dell Mann pleaded guilty Aug. 20 to one count of an indictment charging him with distributing cocaine base on Aug. 10 in Martinsburg, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Sharon L. Potter.

He will serve three years of supervised release following his prison term.

Mann was in federal custody.




Convicted felon sentenced to 10 years in prison

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. ? A convicted felon was sentenced to about 10 years in prison Nov. 20 for crimes he committed in Charles Town, W.Va.

David Anthony Stewart, 24, of Severn, Md., pleaded guilty May 24 to two counts of an indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and unlawful possession of a firearm on Oct. 19, 2005, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia Sharon L. Potter.

Stewart also will serve five years of supervised released following his prison term.

Stewart was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
