Children from Shining Tree in Smithsburg enjoy ride in parade

November 26, 2007

The families of Bowers Marine Sales, customers and the boys from Shining Tree Children's Home in Smithsburg enjoyed a ride on the spacious Suntracker Party Barge 24 during the Mummers Parade in Hagerstown.

Dressed like clowns, ghouls and goblins, and armed with snacks, the group enjoyed time together sharing stories, laughs and waves to the crowd along the parade route.

They followed up this event with a party for family and friends of Bowers Marine Sales on Nov. 1. Spooky noises and "Monster Mash" could be heard in the background as adults and children enjoyed pizza and played games such as the Mummy Wrap.

"The relationship between Bowers Marine and the children has flourished and brought more value to the persons involved than could ever be measured," said a member of the Bowers Marine Sales team.
