Clear Spring High School FBLA attends conference

November 26, 2007

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Nine members of the Clear Spring High School Future Business Leaders of America chapter traveled to Ocean City for the 2007 Maryland DECA/FBLA Fall Leadership Conference on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The Clarion Resort Fontainebleau was the host site for this event.

Members participated in the Leadership Academy and six workshops throughout the two days. The workshops helped members improve goal setting, recruitment, membership involvement, attitude, communication skills, responsibilities as officers, and knowledge of DECA and FBLA. All 300 participants had a chance to network with other students and advisers all over Maryland.

A formal banquet was served the first evening, followed by trick or treat, swimming and a dance in the grand ballroom. The state conference will be held at Hunt Valley in April 2008.

On Nov. 8, members of the Clear Spring FBLA chapter traveled to Washington, D.C., to visit Georgetown University. Students were received at the admissions office and were given a brief overview of the application/financial aid process, as well as an orientation to the campus.
