Cub Scout Extravaganza held at Leitersburg Ruritan Park

November 20, 2007

The Mason-Dixon Council hosted its annual Cub Scout Extravaganza on Oct. 20 at Leitersburg Ruritan Park. Approximately 200 Cub Scouts and their siblings attended the event.

The Scouts had the opportunity to participate in archery, BB shooting, moon bounce, face painting, craft and skills games. They also visited two campsites, one was a model and the other was to determine what was incorrect with the area.

Fran Little and Herm Niedzielski, ham radio operators, demonstrated their equipment and the Cub Scouts talked with other Scouts around the world. This was in conjunction with the Jamboree-On-the-Air, a worldwide annual event.

Gary Little chaired the event with the assistance of Bruce Melton, Cindy Little, Karen Horejs, Darlene Huff, Charles Benner, Phristina Benner, Loretta Milner, Devon Little, John Vorce, Dee Ryder and parents of Cub Scouts.
