Bomb threat empties Spring Mills Middle
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Spring Mills Middle School was evacuated Friday morning because of a possible bomb threat, according to a Berkeley County Sheriff's Department press release.
Two 12-year-olds who officials believe wrote a threatening note so they wouldn't have to be in school were suspended by the school administration, police said.
No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
A note found in a restroom said there was a bomb in the school, which is on Campus Drive, police said.
The school was evacuated for between 60 and 90 minutes while the school was searched, then students were allowed back in, police said.
