November 16, 2007

Proceeds benefit foundation's scholarship pageants

If you're interested in a meal of memorable tastes and helping fund a worthwhile program at the same time, the Miss Washington County-Miss Western Maryland Scholarship Foundation has just the ticket for you.

The foundation's fifth annual Taste and Benefit Auction will be Sunday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the ballroom of The Plaza Hotel.

Board member Jan Dorsey says the Fireside Restaurant will present seven food stations for your enjoyment.

A nonprofit organization, the foundation provides scholarships for young women ages 18 to 24. Guests will not only satisfy their taste buds but be a part of raising scholarships available to these young women.

The silent auction list is quite large and includes donations from Lehman's Mill, Miller's Farmstead, South Pointe Fitness Center, Hagerstown Honda, Spicher's, Carol and Co., Manny's Rug and Decorating Center, Roostervane Garden, Sanders Cookie Jar, Cici's Pizza, Maugansville Creamery, The Big Dipper, The Meadow, Lena's of Hagerstown, Randy's Paint and Decorating, Boonsboro Potomac Street Creamery, Smiling Creek, Uno Chicago Grill, T&C Greenhouse and local artist Susan Shaffer.
