Contract awarded for roof replacement

CLEAR SPRING - The Clear Spring Town Council on Monday awarded LeRoy E. Myers Inc. of Hagerstown the contract to replace a roof on one of the well houses at the town's water-treatment facility.

The $4,500 contract will include the cost to insulate the roof and install two doors at the well house, Mayor Paul D. Hose Jr. said.

"It's going to be a 20-year roof," he said.

The project probably will begin in December, Vice Mayor Steven L. Blickenstaff said.

Licking Creek Paving to clear snow, ice

CLEAR SPRING - During its Monday meeting, the Clear Spring Town Council voted to grant Licking Creek Paving the contract to remove snow this winter from town property, including Hawbaker Circle, for $60 an hour. Licking Creek Paving submitted the lowest of two bids.

Town Clerk Juanita K. Grimm said Licking Creek Paving's services will be required when more than 2 inches of snow accumulates or if the roads ice over.
