The following took place last week in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg, according to news releases from the office of U.S. Attorney Sharon L. Potter:

On Monday:

· Kasey Troy Carey, 24, of Hagerstown, was sentenced to six years and five months in prison. Carey pleaded guilty July 24 to being a felon in possession of a firearm on Oct. 18, 2006. He was free on bond, and the U.S. Attorney's office said he would self-report to a designated federal institution.

· Megan Latrice Nedd, 20, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was sentenced to three years and one month in prison. Nedd pleaded guilty March 8 to distributing crack cocaine on two occasions on April 26, 2005, in Martinsburg. She was in federal custody Thursday.

On Tuesday:

· Alfred Lavell Miller, 55, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 10 years and one month in prison. He pleaded guilty July 13 to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine on May 6, 2005, in Martinsburg. He was in federal custody Thursday.

· Richard Moses Williams, 31, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to five years and three months in prison. He pleaded guilty May 7 to distributing crack cocaine on April 29, 2005, in Martinsburg. He was returned to the custody of the attorney general.

· George Bunny IV, 33, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to four years and four months in prison. He pleaded guilty July 5, 2006, to distributing crack cocaine. He was in federal custody Thursday.

· Che Anthony Harden, 38, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to four years and four months in prison. He pleaded guilty May 29 to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine on June 8, 2006, in Martinsburg. He was in federal custody Thursday.

· David Owen Silver, 27, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 14 years in prison and was ordered to pay a fine of $1,500. He pleaded guilty July 16 to distributing crack cocaine on April 28, 2006, in Martinsburg. He was in federal custody Thursday.

· Craig Lamar Barbe, 46, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison. He pleaded guilty Feb. 16 to possession with intent to distribute cocaine HCL on May 30, 2005, in Falling Waters, W.Va. He was in federal custody Thursday.

· Sidney Kenneth Mitchell, 59, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison. He pleaded guilty July 25 to distributing heroin on March 9, 2005. He was in federal custody Thursday.

· Deborah Colleen Washington, 51, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to six years in prison. She pleaded guilty Aug. 31, 2006, to possession with intent to distribute crack on March 4, 2005. She was in federal custody Thursday.

n James Walter Simms, 43, of Gibsonton, Fla., was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison. He pleaded guilty July 3 to distributing crack cocaine on Aug. 2, 2006, in Charles Town, W.Va. He was in federal custody Thursday.

On Wednesday:

· Alme McFarlane, 32, of Martinsburg, pleaded guilty to being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm on May 3, 2006. Potter's office said McFarlane was an illegal alien from Jamaica and a fugitive from justice. He is in custody and faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
