Sheriff's Department responds to calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls, according to Sgt. Roy Harsh.

Thursday

- An auto theft was reported at 4:24 a.m. in the 18800 block of Fountain Terrace in the Fountain Head area. A red 2006 Acura GL with Maryland registration PRP729 was stolen. Police said that a male used a cell phone left in the car to call the owners at 4:22 a.m. and tell them he had stolen the car.

- A theft from a vehicle was reported at 5:52 a.m. in the 11100 block of Mahogany Drive, near Mount Aetna Drive. A laptop computer valued at $500 was stolen. Also, $250 worth of damage was done to a window.

- A theft from a vehicle in the 11100 block of Mahogany Drive was reported at 6:12 a.m. A wallet was stolen from a Toyota hybrid. Also, $250 worth of damage was done to a window.

- A theft from a vehicle in the 11100 block of Mahogany Drive was reported at 6:31 a.m. A Sony Camcorder valued at $400 was stolen from a Buick car. Also, $250 worth of damage was done to a window.

- A theft from Waffle House on East Potomac Street in Williamsport was reported at 6:55 a.m. The cash register was missing $100 overnight.

- A theft from a vehicle in the 18800 block of Preston Road in the Fountain Head area was reported at 7:04 a.m. Someone broke into a 1992 Pontiac and stole a purse and a radio.

Wednesday

- Someone sprayed a star on the outside of a home in the 11400 block of Tedrick Drive in the Big Pool area, according to a report filed at 5:17 p.m.

- A theft was reported at 6:09 p.m. at the Hillside gas station at 19110 Keep Tryst Road. Someone drove away without paying for $43.43 worth of gas.

- A break-in was reported in the 100 block of East Baltimore Street in Funkstown. Someone stole a safe, a Social Security card, other papers and a class ring valued at $370.

- A theft was reported at 8:01 a.m. in the 12600 block of Seavolt Road in Happy Hills Campground in the Hancock area. Someone stole a gun from a trailer.

- A window on a Kia Sportage in the 300 block of North Main Street in Boonsboro was reported broken at 8:31 a.m.
