ROXBURY, Pa. - A Chambersburg, Pa., man was charged with attempting to interfere with the custody of a child after chasing a 9-year-old girl Monday night in Lurgan Township, according to Pennsylvania state Police.

Mark Robert Farley, 42, of 430 Black Ave., was also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple assault, criminal trespass and public drunkenness, police said. Farley was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Todd R. Williams and was released on $25,000 bail.

Police were called at 6:45 p.m. about an incident in the 11000 block of Roxbury Road where a man had detained another man who had chased his daughter, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The girl told police Farley approached her and said, "Come here. I want to talk to you."

The girl, who did not know Farley, ran around a vehicle to try and get away, police said. As he chased her, she crawled under the vehicle and he tried to grab her.
