Smithsburg Lions hold annual Halloween party

SMITHSBURG - Witches, goblins and other characters attended the Smithsburg Lions Club annual Halloween party Oct. 25 at the Smithsburg Fire Hall.

The children paraded in costumes, participated in a pumpkin-coloring contest and played guessing games.

All participants received an award and a bag of goodies from the club, along with other refreshments.

Tony Valente provided music and was chairman of the event. Terry Hays entertained with his handmade puppets.

The Smithsburg Lions Club provides services to Smithsburg and surrounding communities.

The Smithsburg Lions Club held its annual Halloween party recently and several children attended in costumes. Winners included Cody Souders, Nakia Arthur and Emily Hammond in the 1- to 3-year-old division; 4- to 6-year old prize winners Aidyn Smith, Chad Souders and Zachary Hommel; Other winners included George Souders, Ryan Cohen and Alexis Smith in the 7- to 9-year old category and Jeffrey Weaver and Caitlin Wolfe in the 10- to 12-year old category.
