Operation Santa Claus is still going strong after 36 years. It is a project of the Mental Health Association of Maryland, Washington County branch, and Turning Point of Washington County Inc.
The project provides holiday gifts to the Washington County residents, who number on average 15, who are patients at the Thomas B. Finan Center in Cumberland, Md. The hospital is state-supported, but personal items are not provided and there is a need.
You and/or your group can help by donating small gifts for the patients. The gifts will be delivered in time for Christmas.
Gift-giving guidelines:
· All items must be new.
· Plastic containers are preferred over glass.
· Wrapped gifts need a removable outside tag that labels contents and whether the gift is for a male or female, adult or teenager.
