North Hagerstown Hubs (3-5) at Frederick Cadets (7-1)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Series: Tied, 16-16.

Last meeting: 2004 - Frederick, 35-7.

Last week: The Hubs beat Brunswick, 42-12. ... The Cadets beat Walkersville, 19-6.

Notes: The Hubs have won three games in a row since starting the season 0-3. ... The Hubs still are alive in the Maryland Class 2A West playoff chase, but must win their final two games and get some help. The Hubs trailed Brunswick 6-0 before scoring 28 straight points. RB Justin Donaldson rushed for 239 yards, the third-highest single-game total in North history behind Diez Johnson (240) two weeks ago and E.J. Fuller (258) in 1992. Donaldson has 770 rushing yards on the season; Johnson has 760. The Cadets have won eight straight on the field, but were forced to forfeit their first win of this season for using an ineligible player. ... The Cadets can clinch a Class 3A West playoff berth by winning their final two games. Cadets QB Andre April threw 2 TD passes and ran for another score in the win over Walkersville.


Walkersville Lions (2-6) at South Hagerstown Rebels (1-7)

When: Today, 7

Series: Walkersville leads, 13-5.

Last meeting: 2006 - Walkersville, 19-6.

Last week: The Lions lost to Frederick, 19-6. ... The Rebels lost to Middletown, 12-0.

Notes: The Lions have won three of the last four meetings. ... The Lions have lost four straight games. ... The Lions are without their top two RBs - D.J. Watkins and Keith Brown - for the remainder of the season due to injuries. QB Zach Powell completed 16 of 32 passes for 177 yards and a TD. RB Luke Castillo ran for 112 yards. The Rebels have lost three straight games since beating Clear Spring. ... The Rebels allowed 345 rushing yards in the loss to Middletown. The Middletown defense held the Rebels to 132 total yards (68 rushing, 64 passing) and just seven first downs. The Rebels are trying to avoid their second 1-9 season in three years.

Boonsboro Warriors (6-2) at Catoctin Cougars (3-5)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Series: Boonsboro leads, 25-13-1.

Last meeting: 2006 - Catoctin, 35-28.

Last week: The Warriors beat Clear Spring, 55-0. ... The Cougars lost to Smithsburg, 21-6.

Notes: The Warriors have won 9 of the last 11 in the series. ... The Warriors have won three straight since their surprising loss to South Carroll. ... The Warriors are fifth in the Class 1A West playoff standings. They likely need to win their final two games in order to make the postseason. Brothers Ryan and Brandon McLean each scored 3 TDs in the Warriors' win over Clear Spring. Ryan McLean ran for 150 yards on just six carries, while Brandon McLean ran for 107 on six carries. The Cougars had a two-game winning streak snapped last week. ... After averaging more than 30 points per game in their previous five contests, the Cougars scored just once against Smithsburg - a 69-yard interception return by Dusty Kidd. The Cougars had just four first downs and gained only 104 yards against Smithsburg.

Smithsburg Leopards (8-0) at Williamsport Wildcats (3-5)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Series: Smithsburg leads, 28-8.

Last meeting: 2006 - Smithsburg, 18-0.

Last week: The Leopards beat Catoctin, 21-6. ... The Wildcats lost to Liberty 40-0 on Monday.

Notes: The Leopards have won six straight in the series after losing five in a row from 1996-2000. ... The Wildcats have scored just 43 points in the last six games against Smithsburg. ... The Leopards are seeking to go 9-0 for the first time since 1984. ... The Leopards are third in the Class 1A West playoff standings behind Fort Hill and Allegany. The Leopards gained 330 yards and held Catoctin, which averaged more than 30 points a game in its previous five games, to just 104 yards and no offensive touchdowns. RB Bobby Smith rushed for 65 yards and 2 TDs, while QB Bryan Faulders threw for 118 yards, moving him past the 1,000-yard mark for the season. The Wildcats have lost three straight following a three-game winning streak and have been outscored 108-14 in that span. The Wildcats were held to 9 yards of offense in the loss to Liberty and used four different quarterbacks. The Wildcats completed just one pass for minus-5 yards and rushed 28 times for 14 yards. Liberty led the Wildcats 34-0 at halftime.

Brunswick Railroaders (1-7) at Clear Spring Blazers (0-8)
