Md. 65 closed near Hagerstown

November 01, 2007

Md. 65 was closed to traffic between Oak Ridge Drive and the south side of Interstate 70 on Wednesday after Hagerstown city workers hit a gas line, Community Affairs Director Karen Giffin said.

The Hagerstown Water Department was replacing a four-inch water line on Md. 65 when workers struck the gas line, she said. Columbia Gas was called to fix the problem.

Giffin said the road reopened to traffic at about 2:30 p.m.
